3E Online® - MSDS Enhancement Modules
3E’s MSDS management services offer a variety of options and enhancement modules that can be configured based on a customer’s EH&S information management needs. 3E Online-MSDS: Gold and Platinum Edition subscribers can choose to add any or all of the following:
Onsite Inventory Assessment
Customers can either supply an existing list of products to 3E or, as an enhancement, 3E can provide a convenient, site-specific inventory by sending an inventory specialist on-site.
Chemical Classification
View products classified using the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and Hazardous Materials Identification System (HMIS) ratings. Chemical Classification evaluates products according to federal, state and local standards. By capturing key physical property information from the SDS, products can be classified according to NFPA standards, Uniform Fire Code, BOCA National Fire Prevention Code, and the SBCCI Standard Fire Prevention Code.
Chemical Approval
Enables customers to effectively manage and control what chemicals enter a given facility. Weekly notifications are sent to the designated Approval Manager when new products that require review are added to a site specific inventory. The Approval Manager can review the (M)SDS and other product information to determine whether or not the product should be allowed onsite.
SARA & DHS Candidate Lists
Generate Candidate Lists, either by product or by chemical, that detail a chemical inventory against SARA Title III Sections 311/312/313 criteria: fire, reactivity, pressure, acute, and chronic health hazard and the DHS (Department of Homeland Security) list. SARA Candidate Lists also provides valuable support documentation as backup to regulatory reporting obligations. This module is included in the Platinum Edition at no additional cost.
Regulatory Reporting
Gather and analyze chemical and product data from your inventory for federal and several U.S. state SARA Tier II EPCRA reports. Interface enables the generation and submittal of the report online. Data can be exported as well in a variety of formats
Revision Alert
A standard feature of 3E Online-MSDS is that users are alerted whenever a new version of an MSDS in their inventory is available. The Revision Alert Module takes it to the next level by enabling users to quickly and easily identify the exact nature of the revision.
Designated users receive a weekly email of key data element revisions, including
CAS RN changes, NFPA/HMIS changes, and physical and health hazard modifications.
The report is displayed in a graphical side-by-side comparison of the old MSDS and the revised MSDS, with the effected data points highlighted for quick and easy identification.
The Revision Alert Module supports and streamlines MSDS change and impact analysis across several areas of a company's EH&S activities. Its innovative features enable EH&S managers to determine the impact that the modified MSDS has on regulatory reporting requirements (SARA, NPRI, REACH) and training programs. It also alerts site personnel if it is necessary to update secondary container labels, adjust PPE, or change how a product is stored onsite.
Approval Managers can even compare products against the 40+ regulatory lists maintained in 3E Online as well as any custom lists such as a banned chemical list, to see how products pending approval are regulated, which helps make the decision whether to approve or deny a hazardous product.
3E-Ariel RegImpact
For customers who need access to global regulatory content, this module provides access to the Ariel chemical regulatory database and an expanded regulatory impact analysis feature to enable better understanding of the impact of regulatory changes on a customer’s raw materials, components and products that specifically apply to their entire organization down to a single inventory location. Additionally, customers can track regulatory changes within their inventories. Users can also run change reports based on specified location and date range, enabling them to analyze the impact of the regulatory change on their operation. This modules is only available with Expert Edition.
Green Product Analyzer (GPA)
By leveraging 3E’s global CAS level regulatory profiles and chemical classification data, 3E GPA can provide intelligence regarding the chemical constituents used in a company's products and their associated toxicity, health and environmental hazards. Since no single definition of sustainability exists, the system is designed to accommodate each organization’s self-defined criteria, while still providing guidance to those who might still be identifying their parameters. Users utilize 3E’s green grading system to yield results that enable them to make better purchasing decisions or source alternative products that will better support their sustainability goals.
REACH
By utilizing the inventories created in 3E Online, the REACH module enables users to determine their own REACH role for each product. Users may then upload volume information and produce reports that will de-formulate any product/mixture that is exported to, or manufactured in the EU, and show the tonnage for each substance.
Supplier Portal
The 3E Online Supplier Portal enables a company's suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and/or buyers to load MSDSs and data into a centralized, secure, easy-to-use web-based application. Manufacturers can now provide the desired compositional data while protecting their trade secrets. The portal offers a way for companies to obtain the information they need, while protecting the supplier from exposing sensitive information.
As data is loaded into the system, 3E analyzes, indexes and augments information as appropriate, based on the MSDS. Whether it be hazard chemical classification information, dangerous goods classification or an altogether newly-authored MSDS or secondary container label, 3E can provide the additional data, or validate existing data, so that your organization can optimize its data management operations.
